We are CareerBite Limited (CareerBite). The data controller is CareerBite Ltd.
CareerBite Ltd offers services and e-learning resources to help you get a job and encourage self-development.
How do you capture my personal information?
A. When you create an account, you will provide certain information:

B. When you SIGN UP for premium content, you will provide certain information:

· Responses to the questionnaires.
We will also collect some information automatically:
From the information from your browser we may look to see which search engine you used to find us. We may like to see what device was used to access our website and how you used it.

What happens if I don’t provide my personal data?
If you don’t supply your personal data, then you will not be able to use our premium services or receive newsletters.
Who else can see that I am a member of CareerBite?
Most of the time, only you can see that you are a member of CareerBite unless for example:
· You share information about CareerBite on social media or other public websites;
· You make a comment about CareerBite in a survey, which may be made public;
· We are required to share something for legal or regulatory purposes.
We may also share information with our service providers, for example:
· Taking payment for annual subscriptions;
· Website and Database providers:
o Our website is hosted by SquareSpace Inc. Data is stored in the EU.
o Our database is hosted by Knack. Data is stored in the EU.
o Our email service is provided by Google. Data is stored in the EU.
o All other providers are hosted by Amazon’s AWS service. Data is stored in the EU.
How do you use my data?

How long will you keep my data?
We normally keep your data for as long as necessary to continue to give you access to the services. You can delete your data at any time. If you are a member, you can do this by deleting your information via ‘My Account’. If you only receive newsletters, just unsubscribe by following the link at the footer of any newsletter.
Do you share my data with other companies?
We promise to keep your data confidential and it will only be used by CareerBite Ltd.
We might share it with other departments within CareerBite Ltd, for example market research; and for our own continual improvement program keeping our services relevant. We will also want to tell you about the other services CareerBite offers but you can tell us you don’t want to hear about them and that is OK, simply unsubscribe using the link at the footer in any communication.
Only in exceptional circumstances may we need to share your information without your permission, if we think you might be breaking the law and such disclosure is allowed under data protection law.
If we do need to share your data, we will do this in a secure way.
We make every effort to use services where data is stored in the EU.
Where your personal data is transferred outside of the EU, we will ensure that either (a) The European Commission has made an "adequacy decision" with respect to the data protection laws of the country to which it is transferred, or (b) we have entered into a suitable data processing agreement with the third party situated in that country to ensure the adequate protection of your data. Can I see what information you hold about me?
What is great is that YOU are the controller of your own account. This means you have access via your login to see all the information we hold about you.
Will data be used in future for other purposes?
During your membership, we will send you newsletters, to keep you up to date with news and the release of any new resources or new services.
We will continue to do this, even if your membership to premium stuff has come to an end. You can, however, unsubscribe from this service at any time using the link at the footer in any communication.
Can I delete my data?
You can delete your data at any time. If you have full membership, you can do this by deleting your information via ‘My Account’. If you only receive newsletters, just unsubscribe by following the link at the footer of any newsletter.
This will delete all personal data.
Remember that by deleting your membership, access to your CV profile and in-depth report will be deleted, so be sure to copy and save them somewhere. You will lose all access to the premium resources too. No membership can be reinstated.
Deleting your account and cancelling your membership, won’t delete any data you’ve shared with CareerBite for reasons of our own internal market research; feedback you have given CareerBite telling us how we are doing and what we could do better or any comments you have made publicly on social media. You can ask us to delete this specific data, by using the Contact Us form. It will take up to 28 days from the receipt of your email, to action this request.
Communicating over the internet
Please remember that any emails or other communication, which you send using the internet may not be safe unless they are encrypted. Unfortunately, this is the nature of the internet.
Sadly, someone may get into your emails without your knowledge, or your personal information may be shared publicly, we can’t accept responsibility, as this is out of our control.
Stay vigilant as no website is completely secure.
If you have any concerns that your login details to your account have been compromised, then we strongly advise that you change your password as soon as possible by using the link ‘forgot password’ on the login page.
Pages on careerbite.com and other Company sites
On our website there are pages that are branded with both CareerBite name and logo but you may see other companies names and logos. We and other companies working with us, all look after these pages.
