Make sure that you know what you're going to be questioned on, what your role will likely entail, and exactly what the company does. Not only will this prove to the interviewer that you are willing to spend time preparing and planning, but it will also give you a much better idea of whether this is a company you actually could see yourself working for.

There are a number of questions that you should have in your back pocket as soon as you enter the interview room. It could be that some of them get answered naturally during the course of the interview, but if they aren't, don't be afraid to fire off a number of inquisitive questions. Remember, you need to be sure that this job is a good fit for you, so make sure you're fully aware of what the position will entail.

2. What are the main roles and responsibilities?

3. How will performance be judged?

4. What are the company's short- and long-term growth ambitions?

5. What does this company do better (and worse) than its competitors?

Be enthusiastic and knowledgable, but don't be afraid to let the interviewer know if you have some blind spots. After all, how could an outsider be privy to information around long-term ambitions? Ask questions that will make the interviewer think. If you can come up with unique questions that spring to mind during the interview process, then all the better.
